Kendriya Vidyalaya No.1, Patiala Cantt. is a prestigious vidyalaya, not only the Chandigarh Region but also in Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan as a whole. Year after year, it is achieving excellence in academics, games and sports, co-curricular activities and many other activities. It has been selected as one of the model schools by KVS New Delhi. It is also a ‘Smart Vidyalaya’ to impart computer education to neighbouring schools. Like other KVs it is affiliated to CBSE, New Delhi. It serves the needs of the wards of defence personnel and other transferable central/state government employees of Patiala and adjoining areas. Established in 1974, at Rajpura, it was shifted to Patiala Cantt. in July, 1975. Presently, it is located in OR Colony of Patiala Cantt. on Sangrur Road at about 4 km. from the Railway Station/ Bus Stand of Patiala
